SIROCCO ITALIAN RESTAURANT EXPANDS ITS MENU WITH MORE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN DISHES
Chef’s new creations encompass of authentic Italian mouth-watering appetizers to delighting desserts, made to suit local diners’ liking.
Melaka, Malaysia; May 2013 – Sirocco Italian Restaurant at Holiday Inn Melaka recently introduced a brand new menu that features an array of fresh creations, which including an awe of Italian mouth-watering appetizers to delighting desserts.
According to Chef Kamarrudin - Holiday Inn Melaka’s Exec Sous Chef; the expansion of Sirocco’s menu was to bring the flavorful Mediterranean flair to the local diners, as well to the hotel’s diverse guests.
He commented that it’s a challenging task to create these dishes while keeping it to the local diners’ liking. “We work closely with our suppliers to get the needed ingredients, which some have to be flown in from overseas and we tweak the dishes from time to time based on the feedback from our guest.” Chef Kamarrudin added.
While high quality ingredients and extraordinaire techniques are being used to create these dishes, the restaurant still keeps the prices reasonable for diners.
One of chef’s creations for appetizer is named Funghi Dell Arrosto con il Farmaggio di Capre – an Italian dish that is made of portabello mushroom roasted with goat curd cheese in a wood fired oven. Though it’s a simple looking dish, it’s actually packed with flavors and nutrition.
As for the main dish, Chef serves up a combination of sumptuous grilled meats named Griglia Mista – marriage of lamb chop, beef cut and jumbo sausage dressed with choice of sauces.
Alternatively, for those who don’t take beef can try Chef’s seafood wonder, Alla Aragosta – pasta served with tossed succulent lobster and shallots.
For a sweet ending, Chef Kamarrudin highly recommends the authentic Italian dessert; Gianduitto Torto or in English as hazelnut chocolate tart served with vanilla ice-cream. This dish is very satisfying and fun for diners of all ages.
Sirocco Italian Restaurant is located at the hotel’s lobby, offers guests a cozy and comfortable place to wine and dine. The restaurant caters to family, business travelers or even to couples who are looking for a romantic candlelight dinner.
