Melaka state’s vision to become Malaysia's second largest city.

Malacca aims to become second largest malaysian city

Undaunted by its small size, Malacca is setting its sights on becoming a metropolis in five years.
"Everything looks positive for us to be the second largest city (after Kuala Lumpur) with the commitment from the Guangdong province government of China," said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, referring to investments from the Chinese city.
He said Malacca had been working towards ensuring a RM20bil investment from China in the next five years.
"The recent state government's delegation to Guangdong has opened up opportunities," he said in an interview.
Idris said he was also courting investors from Italy and other European countries to invest in tourism and industries.
"I will put my heart and soul into making Malacca a modern city in a few years' time," he said.
Idris said the geographical location of Malacca and its effective infrastructure had been a yardstick for the Chinese investors.
Malacca, he said, was also nestled among other major cities along the southern development corridor.
"We also have a unique kaleidoscope of cultures," he said, citing the thriving Peranakan culture.
He said Malacca had great potential to be an international seaport by 2025 with the fiscal commitment from Guangdong.
"Guangdong will start to construct harbour facilities here to turn Malacca into a top nautical hub in this region on par with Singapore," said Idris.
He said Guandong was also looking at unveiling another airport as a catalyst to the joint development of tourism and industrial development in Malacca.
Idris said residents in Malacca should alter their mindset to become big thinkers in view of the state’s vision to become Malaysia's second largest city.

Great News ! Direct flights from China to Malacca airport.

The Melaka International Airport will handle 26 direct flights from Guangdong, China, for a trial period of six months beginning July.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said the service, based on charter concept, would be provided by Southern China Airline which would use an Airbus A319 to ply the route.

"Each flight will accommodate 120 passengers and if the response is good we will increase flight frequency up to thrice weekly," he said after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.

Idris, who just returned after leading an investment and tourism promotion mission to Guangdong, said the deal was reached during his visit to the province.
"Guangdong authorities are keen to include Malaccca as one of their destinations."
On another development, Idris said energy supplier Edra Global Energy Bhd has agreed to invest RM4 billion in the state.
"They plan to build a combined cycle gas turbine generator at the Telok Gong power station."

Restoran Sri Taman Tasik Utama, Sendayan.

Entrepreneur extrodinai're and M.T.A. former Treasurer, restaurant owner Tn.Hj Moidu and partner Tn.Bakar's latest addition to their coterie of Indian Muslim restaurants is right smack in the commercial and training center of Bandar Sri Sendayan which is recognized as a first-class township in Seremban.  Their latest branch- Restoran Sri Tasik Utama is a haven of good halal food and drinks for the community in Sendayan.

Located within the Greater Klang Valley Conurbation in Seremban on 5,233 acres of freehold land, Bandar Sri Sendayan was planned and designed with one thing in mind, comfortable living and what is comfort without food.

Mutton Curry

As such we  arrived  one fine Thursday afternoon to check it out-- and was pleasantly surprised, the food was fresh, tasty and inexpensive--nice lunch location with enough  fresh fruit drinks and vegetarian items, good tea and atmosphere

And so, after the food testing session , we were assured that too is available here as fast, clean and hospitable  service plus great tasting food are the cornerstone of this yummy restaurant's offerings!

Our group was served their mouth watering Briyani, Mutton curry; Rojak Pasembur; complimented with gernerous servings of  Chicken and Fish curry. The Basmathi briyani rice was smooth and tasty, the  fried chicken fragrant and  tender, and the fresh fruit juices excellent .

All in all, a wonderful session with a restaurant that has good ambiance and easy access, great tasting food and good pricing.
